According to the International Energy Agency, the number of electric cars in the world's streets will soon reach 2 million and it is estimated that the number will be between 9 and 20 million by 2020.
Toyota, which sells 10 million cars a year, is betting on hydrogen as the future energy source. Funnily enough, Mirai, the name of Toyota's hydrogen car, means future. But Toyota is not the only firm working in hydrogen and it does not necessarily need to be the solution for the future but rather play an important role in the future energy mix.
