Energy needed for converting the Icelandic economy to run on hydrogen

How much energy is needed for converting the Icelandic economy and run the society on locally made hydrogen?   Renewable Energy 2002
This article was written in 2002 on request from Richard Knox, the editor of Renewable Energy for the UNEP program. It shows estimations, based on the official energy forecast for 2030, of the amounts of power needed to produce enough hydrogen to run the transportation and the fishing sector in Iceland. The only production cycle is electrolysis from geothermal and hydro-power sources and a specific efficiency coefficient for fuel cells and electrolysis. The calculations indicate that only 10% of the local geothermal and hydropower sources would suffice to cover all local needs of fuel. – Keep in mind that all electricity and heating is provided through district public systems.
