To do so, the project aims\u00a0to create a network between key\u00a0players in all the Nordic countries to\u00a0identify policy and roadmap recommendations\u00a0for Nordic policy and decision\u00a0makers on how to increase the\u00a0use of alternative fuels and reduce\u00a0emissions from marine applications.\u00a0It is important in all aspects to increase\u00a0efficiency and reduce waste in\u00a0the fragile environment of the North\u00a0Atlantic. The recommendations\u00a0shall put forward goals for 2025 and\u00a0also longer term goals, i.e. 2050.\u00a0They should specify actions, CO2\u00a0reduction goals, national & Nordic\u00a0programs, international cooperation,\u00a0infrastructure and alternative fuel\u00a0resources among others.\u00a0The outcome will be published in a\u00a0\u201cwhite paper\u201d at the end of the project\u00a0and the project will host a conference\u00a0to disseminate key findings. It\u00a0is expected that the Marina network\u00a0can continue on after the lifetime of\u00a0the project, and become to some extent\u00a0self-sufficient.
